Our History
Westgate Juniors Football Club was founded in 2006 with the support of the Hat-trick project after successfully hosting a mini world cup festival with local schools. In 2007 the club was awarded the FA Charter Standard Award and then the Charter Standard Development Club mark in 2011.
Our Home
Westgate Juniors Football Club is situated on the playing fields behind Soccer World on the West Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE4 9LG. Throughout the year the grass pitches are used for training but during the harsher months the teams train on the artificial pitches at Soccer World. We also host matches as a central venue for U12 Apollo League at Westgate and the Under 9 Apollo League at St Johns (The Turf).
Development
Our dedicated coaches run development sessions every Friday evening 5pm till 6pm at Westgate sports centre. The sessions are aimed at players aged between 5 and 13 who are not involved with a team and want to learn more about playing football in a safe and friendly environment without the pressure of playing for a team. The sessions are fun and friendly with the aim of helping to develop football skills while having fun.
